2024 Howard Vineyard "Icon" Shiraz
Rich dark berries, black cherry, blueberry and plum aromas, while also showing hints of spice; a vineyard characteristic. Oak characters also show through, clove, chocolate and vanilla. Delicious intense dark fruits, red cherry, blueberry, blackberry and plum. This wine is well balanced and finishes with silky tannin.

Winemaking
Vineyard: Clover Farm, Mt Barker. 360 to 390 metres above sea level with gentle slopes Winemaking: The grapes are harvested in the cool of the night so we can conduct a long cold soak prior to primary fermentation in 5 tonne open top fermenters. Ferments were run hot. Hand plunged, 02 speared and foot stomped. The grapes were then basket pressed after 10 days on skins. The wine was then matured for 16 months in 50% new French oak and 50% 2nd and 3rd use French oak Puncheons (500L barrels). Only the best barrels are then selected for our Amos wines. The wine was then bottled with minimal clarification and So2.
Bouquet
Bouquet: Lifted aromatics of black pepper and ripe plum lead the nose, layered with earthy spice and a hint of fresh leather. The bouquet is savoury and expressive, balancing dark fruit richness with subtle yet complex spice notes.
Palate
Palate: A rich, generous palate driven by juicy plum, with notes of mocha. Hints of green peppercorn add a fresh spice and lift, bringing balance and complexity to the wine. The profile is plush yet structured, with a distinctly savoury character.
