2025 Howard Vineyard Cabernet Estate Franc Rosé is an absolute delight with Crispy Prawn Sando, pickled beetroot, salmon roe, grana pandano.
Winemaking
Vineyard: Clover Farm, Mt Barker (Blocks 4 & 9) Planted in 1998 Elevation: 380-410 AMSL Optimum yields are approximately 8 tonnes per hectare. Winemaking: Estate grown at our Mt Barker vineyard. Harvested from Blocks 4 & 9 in the cool of the evening to ensure minimum colour pick-up. Cane-pruned for controlled yields and optimal flavour concentration. Fruit picked deliberately early for freshness. Gentle press with minimal maceration to control colour and phenolics. Fermentation in stainless steel, followed by short maturation on fine lees to soften acidity and enhance texture.

Bouquet: Cherry and pomegranate followed by a touch of mango and yellow peach. An intriguing herbal alure showcases strawberry-leaf and rose petals
Palate
Palate: There is an immediate mouth-filling fullness to the wine that lead to what are seemingly appropriate flavours of candied red fruit and fairy floss, contributing to the feeling of richness. Hints of an orange peel-like citrus line and a certain wet stone minerality hold through a lingering acidity, making for one of the more thought-provoking Australian rosé’ s you will find.
